Gamer of the Year 2025 Round 2
The Pit: Where Legends Are Born… Or at Least Show Up
The month of April saw the RAF Lossiemouth Phantoms committee launch a high-stakes challenge: a solo speedrun through the legendary Modern Warfare 2 mission, The Pit. The rules were simple—complete the course as fast as humanly possible. Precision shooting, quick movement, zero room for error. A test of skill. A test of nerve. A stage for legends. In the end, only one contender stepped forward. And that elite operator was Dean Bowditch.
Despite a full month of opportunity, community buzz, and the promise of leaderboard glory, Dean was the sole participant to rise to the challenge. And while that technically made him both first and last… he made sure his time was nothing short of elite.
Dean ran The Pit like a man possessed. No misfires. No hesitation. Just pure speed and surgical precision. His run was so sharp it practically left scorch marks on the digital floor.
“It’s a tremendous time. One of the best. People are saying it's maybe the best. Nobody’s ever run The Pit like this before. Incredible.” – Donald Trump
While others were busy, distracted, deployed—or maybe just wisely avoiding embarrassment—Dean Bowditch put in the work. Blood, sweat, and an unholy number of retries led to a time that now sits uncontested on the leaderboard. A time that whispers to would-be challengers: “Good luck.”
To those who thought about entering but didn’t: you missed out. Sure, some people had a little try but were not willing to be parted from their money and that's ok. It is after all a little bit of fun to raise money for the club.
To those who think they can do better: prove it.
Because remember… £1.00 buys you 10 minutes of blood, sweat, and tears. Your stage. Own it—or choke on it.
Until next time,
The RAF Lossiemouth Phantoms Team
