The third round of the Gamer of the Year 2025 series exploded onto the virtual asphalt of Interlagos, as competitors strapped into the cutting-edge 2024 McLaren MCL38 for a high-stakes time trial. With the digital stands packed, a mild breeze across the track, and the atmosphere buzzing with anticipation, the stage was set for some serious F1 hot laps.
The field was as diverse as it was competitive, featuring a mix of familiar faces and some unexpected, high-ranking contenders from within the RAF, all vying for crucial championship points. Early whispers suggested records would fall, and the drivers did not disappoint!
The Contenders and Their Times
Deano: Kicking off the action, Deano laid down a respectable 1:12.928. While he might have joked about "not winning his own event," it was a solid start to the session.
Ricky: Another strong early run came from Ricky, who clocked in at 1:12.401, showing good pace on the challenging Brazilian circuit.
Maisie: Demonstrating impressive consistency and speed, Maisie put in a fantastic 1:11.300, solidifying her position as a force to be reckoned with.
Dave?: A newcomer to the leaderboard, "Dave?" showed serious pace with a 1:11.118. A name to watch, if only we knew his full one!
The "2 Star": In a truly surprising appearance, a visiting RAF Air Officer, humbly identifying only as "a 2 Star," proved that rank truly does come with skill, posting an impressive 1:11.864. Perhaps a hidden sim racing talent within the RAF!
Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton (Chief of the Air Staff and RAF Big Dawg): Not to be outdone, the esteemed Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, the "RAF Big Dawg" himself, brought his A-game to Interlagos. Slicing through the corners with precision, he set a blistering 1:11.170. A truly top-tier performance from the RAF's highest-ranking officer, proving leadership extends to the virtual track!
Sqn Ldr Birch (Boss Man): Our very own Boss Man, Joe Birch, proved his leadership extends beyond the office, pushing the MCL38 to its limits with an incredible 1:10.627. A truly commanding performance!
Tom F: As the times continued to tumble, Tom F threw down a gauntlet with a stunning 1:10.014, hinting that the 1:09s were within reach.
The Unbeatable Lap!
Just when everyone thought the times couldn't get any faster, the event crowned its undisputed champion. Stepping up to the rig, a true maestro of the virtual cockpit unleashed a lap that left everyone speechless.

Joe T's performance was nothing short of phenomenal, driving the MCL38 with surgical precision and raw speed, smashing through the 1:09 barrier and setting a new benchmark for the Gamer of the Year series.
